{"id":3381,"date":"2020-07-23T08:55:49","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T08:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.communityexplore.com\/winterparkfl\/?p=3381"},"modified":"2020-07-23T08:57:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-23T08:57:07","slug":"see-trough-our-eyes-storytellers-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communityexplore.com\/winterparkfl\/see-trough-our-eyes-storytellers-18\/","title":{"rendered":"See trough Our Eyes \u2013 Storytellers 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\\\"margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt;\\\"><img class=\\\"aligncenter wp-image-3382\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/www.communityexplore.com\/winterparkfl\/files\/2020\/07\/16-Event-Storytellers-XVII-2020.jpg\\\" alt=\\\"\\\" width=\\\"369\\\" height=\\\"369\\\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When the camera is put in their hands, and intergenerational connections are made, the results are powerful and lasting.\u00a0<em>Storytellers 18<\/em>\u00a0was originally unveiled in the Fall of 2019 at the African American Museum of the Arts in DeLand as all storytellers\u2019 projects are first shown in their hometown.<br \/>\nNow on display at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center in Winter Park, this opening event includes a gallery talk by project creator and documentary photographer Peter Schreyer, and an opportunity to meet some of the Storytellers, project partners, and supporting Fellowship Artists at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.<br \/>\nSince 1996, the Crealde Storytellers Teen Documentary Photography Program has given photography instruction to students ages 13\u201317, providing the opportunity for self-expression while exploring the heritage of their community. From Orlando\u2019s urban Parramore neighborhood to suburban Sanford and Apopka, to rural Geneva and coastal New Smyrna Beach, teens from around Central Florida have completed 18 photographic documentary exhibitions to date.
