\\\"Watermelon-Hunter<\/a>Here\\’s what you need to know about the Hunter Vision Watermelon 5k run this coming July 4th.<\/p>\n

The 5k run starts at 7am, and the kids run starts at 8:15am. Come to Park Avenue in Winter Park, 251 Park Avenue South Winter Park, FL 32789.<\/p>\n

Runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts of all ages can have summertime fun by\u00a0participating in the Hunter Vision Watermelon 5k, Friday, July 4 on Park Avenue in Downtown Winter\u00a0Park. The 3.1-mile run\/walk begins at 7:00 a.m. It\u2019s an All-American-style celebration featuring a shady\u00a0course, entertainment, free kids\u2019 run and the crowd favorite, the Watermelon Eating Contest. \u00a0Participants can show support for local military personnel in three ways:<\/p>\n

1) Discount entry <\/b>to active and retired military personnel and their families.<\/p>\n

2) Food Drive<\/b>. Contribute a non-perishable food items for distribution through the Orlando VA<\/p>\n

Medical Center\u2019s Veterans in Need Program.<\/b><\/p>\n

3) Team Challenge competition.<\/b>\u00a0 Runners and walkers form teams of any kind: corporate, running club, ROTC, church group, etc. All teams receive recognition and the largest team will\u00a0have a $500 donation made on their behalf to a local 501\u00a9 (3) organization that supports military\u00a0service. All 5k registrants who are active or retired military service personnel and\/or military family members will\u00a0receive special recognition by a unique bib number and will be entered into a prize drawing to win a Military Appreciation Staycation!\u00a0 Staycation elements include a two night stay at Rosen Centre and a $75\u00a0Darden restaurant gift card. The randomly chosen winner will be announced after the race.<\/p>\n

\\\"HVWKids\\\"<\/a>Track Shack created this event in hopes of celebrating a wholesome community in order to raise funds for the Track Shack Foundation which supports local active and retired military personnel and their families. The Track Shack Foundation is a 501 \u00a9(3) organization whose mission is to promote health and fitness with an emphasis on youth athletics.<\/p>\n

In order to run in this race you must be a registered runner. Here\\’s a break down of the race fees.<\/p>\n

Entry Fee:
\n$25 through June 28\u2026\u2026$29\u2026..June 29 – July 3
\n$15 Age 17 & under and age 65 & over
\n$15 Active, retired military personnel and military family members through July 3.
\n$35 Race Day at race day at race site<\/p>\n
