THE HOGTOWN ALLSTARS – 6 of Canada\u2019s best Blues artists – Chuck Jackson, Michael Fonfara, Pat Carey, Gary Kendall & Mike Fitzpatrick from Downchild plus guitarist Teddy Leonard – returned to BLUES ON THE RIDEAU @ THE COVE INN, Westport this past weekend Feb 20 & 21 and put on another pair of great performances. It was the third year in a row this band has played the Series and anyone who has attended their shows knows why. Entertaining, fun and superb musicianship.<\/p>\n
Collectively The Hogtown Allstars represent almost 300 years of Blues playing experience and it shows. Led by singer\/harmonica player\/comedian Chuck Jackson these guys entertain right from the first song mixing it up with their renditions of old Blues classics along with their own original songs.\u00a0The crowd gave them a standing ovation and demanded an encore both nights.<\/p>\n
The Cove Inn once again served up a delicious buffet that received 9\u2019s and 10\u2019s out of 10 on the Comment Cards and many compliments.<\/p>\n
$400 was raised each night for the Rideau Vista and St. Edward\u2019s Elementary Schools bringing this year\u2019s BOTR fundraising total to over $2,700 for local Westport charities.<\/p>\n
