*Tell Your Story! Storytelling & Personal Narrative **with Catherine
\nMcCormick*<\/p>\n

*July 19th 10am-4pm* $65.00<\/p>\n

Storytelling is a popular art form at live storytelling events and on radio
\nshows and podcasts worldwide. It can also be used as a tool to improve your
\npublic speaking, voice, and personal narrative writing. This full-day
\nworkshop will introduce participants to the basics of telling a tale and a
\nvariety of storytelling techniques. Each participant will leave the
\nworkshop with one polished 5 minute story, as well as a pocketful of ideas
\nfor future performances, personal essays or memoirs.<\/p>\n

*Improvised Comedy for Fun & Creativity** wi**th Danz Altvater*<\/p>\n

*July 20th 10am-4pm* $65.00<\/p>\n

Improvisation is a valuable tool for performers of all stripes as well as a
\nfun, low-pressure way to start performing. Improv helps develop acting and
\nwriting skills, and build one\u2019s confidence, creative flow and public
\nspeaking ability. This workshop is designed to introduce people at all
\nskill levels to the art of improvisation. Participants will get hands-on
\ninstruction in improv comedy through various exercises, games and scene
\nwork. Participants will end the day with a 20 minute performance open to
\nfriends and family.<\/p>\n

*Body in Motion- With FUN! **with Motus O Dance Theatre*<\/p>\n

This workshop is an introduction to movement, designed for self-expression
\nand storytelling. A variety of motifs will be learned and explored
\ninvestigating time, space, shapes and flow always working within the realm
\nof one\u2019s natural abilities. Individual, partner and group work will be
\nexplored, inspiring moments of community and creativity. All skill levels
\nwelcomed.<\/p>\n

*Children\u2019s Puppetry **with Matthew Romain*<\/p>\n

*August 7th 10am -4pm *$*45.00*<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t miss this incredible opportunity for your child to create and work
\nwith puppets!<\/p>\n

Open to children of all ages and adults who are eager to let their inner
\nchild play. This is a unique opportunity to work with Matthew Romain, the
\nLaughtertainer. Matthew has been performing imaginative stories and songs,
\nand creating amazing puppets to go with them since 1980. His work in
\npuppetry is known across Canada with over 1500 live performances to his
\ncredit and finally here in Westport! His keen sense of fun is appreciated
\nby children and adults. During this workshop your very own puppets will be
\ncreated. The workshop concludes with a dynamic puppet sharing performed by
\nYOU and your puppet!<\/p>\n

*Enjoy Singing* *with Ann Patteson*<\/p>\n

*August 9th 10am \u2013 4pm* $65.00<\/p>\n

Have you always wanted to sing, but weren\u2019t sure you could? This workshop
\nwill dissolve your doubts! You\u2019ll learn how to apply the fundamentals of
\ngood singing technique and how to develop your own singing voice. We\u2019ll
\ncreate simple, yet beautiful vocal music in a safe, relaxed group setting.
\nAnn has been a performing singer, and a vocal workshop leader for over 3
\ndecades. She is an expert in finding the music in each person\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n

*Explore Poetry* *with Steven Campbell*<\/p>\n

*August 10th 10 am \u2013 1 pm* $30.00<\/p>\n

Explore your creative process through the beauty and expressiveness of
\npoetic language. This workshop will be in the form of a guided and
\nfacilitated discussion which will include the experiences and interests of
\nthe participants. The workshop is for aspiring as well as more experienced
\npoets. We will review various sources of inspiration, the process of
\nexploration and creation, and rewriting and editing. Examples will be
\ndrawn from the work of the presenter, as well as other writers.
\nParticipants are invited to share their writing and creative experiences.<\/p>\n

*Music by the Pond *<\/p>\n

*Circus Terrifico **by* *Motus O Dance Theatre*<\/p>\n

*July 27th 2 pm \u2013 3 pm *<\/p>\n

Come and enjoy a hilarious show by the nationally recognized Motus O. Dance
\nTheatre. Cirrus Terrifico is a comedy about three circus performers
\nboarding the train to their next show. A case of vanishing tickets,
\nhowever, thwarts their plans and strands them on the platform. It takes
\nevery trick in the book (and their suitcases!) to create an impromptu show
\nto raise money for new tickets. This is a hilariously energetic
\nmicro-version interpretation of the ballets, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.
\nBring the family! Light refreshments will be included.<\/p>\n
