It\u2019s time for you to start training and get your body in shape for one of the year\u2019s biggest sports and active lifestyle events, the 20<sup>th<\/sup> annual Perth Triathlon, which happens on the 16<sup>th<\/sup> of May. You want to be an iron man? Then this is the race for you.<\/p>\n<p>This annual event, which is highly regarded as one of the most gruelling races of its kind in the whole country, draws in a lot of athletes and enthusiasts because of its high level of professionalism and special attention to technical detail.<\/p>\n<p>But like most success stories, the Perth Triathlon had very humble beginnings.<\/p>\n<p>The event started out as a challenge by senior pool staff to younger swimming instructors and lifeguards to try their hand in more physical activities \u2013 activities that are a notch higher than regular swimming. The pool staff then decided to develop a mini triathlon at the pool where they could bring out their dormant athletic abilities. Pool users were also invited to show off their stuff by biking, swimming, and running for glory.<\/p>\n<p>Those same principles that started the event 2 decades ago are still present today, and from the looks of things, it seems that this year\u2019s triathlon will be a smash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sports and fitness buffs listen up.
