SUMMARY:Eleanor the Great
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n  \nStudio Theatre Perth presents FILM CLUB FRIDAY. On Friday\, April 10th the movie ELEANOR THE GREAT shows at both 2pm and 7pm. Directed by Scarlett Johansson\, running time 1 hour 38 minutes\, English language with captions. Tickets are $12 each and available at the door (cash)\, at Tickets Please (www.ticketsplease.ca\, or 613-485-6434). A 5-movie pass is available for $50. \nELEANOR THE GREAT is an American comedy drama directed by Scarlett Johansson in her feature directorial debut. The story centres on Eleanor Morgenstein\, a spirited 94 year-old woman played by June Squibb\, who is navigating life after the death of her best friend and long-time roommate\, Bessie. \nFeeling lonely and sidelined by her busy family after moving to New York City to live with her daughter and grandson\, Eleanor accidentally stumbles into a support group for Holocaust survivors at a Jewish community centre and\, rather than correcting the mistake\,  begins sharing Bessie’s harrowing experiences as if they were her own. \nThat untruth draws the interest of Nina\, a young journalism student grappling with her own grief and sparks an unlikely\, heartfelt friendship between the two women. \nAs Eleanor’s story spreads\, the lie grows harder to sustain\, leading to poersonal and public consequences – but ultimately opens the door to healing\, forgiveness and deeper connections across generations.  \n  \nDate :\nApril 10\, 2026 at 2pm & 7pm \nEvent location :\n63 Gore St. East on the Tay Basin \nContact : \nStudio Theatre Perth\n613-485-6434\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:The Bells of St.Paul's present Ring in the Spring
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n  \nThe Bells of St. Paul’s Ring in the Spring!\nI love the smell of Spring. I love the taste of sap. I love the cry of a newborn lamb. I love the lengthening shadows and the steady drip of icicles melting. Most of all I love the feeling of anticipation that comes from preparing for a spring concert. This year the sense of anticipation is ever present as the Hand Bell Choir of St. Paul’s United Church in Perth prepare for “Ring in the Spring”!The concert will occur on April 12th\, 2026 @ 2:00p.m. in the Sanctuary of St. Paul’s\, 25 Gore Street West\, Perth ON.\nSome past descriptors of the overall sound of the bell choir include\, “magical” “ephemeral\,” and “mesmerizing” The concert will feature beautiful and exciting bell music enhanced by many aspects and techniques of bell ringing\, including echoing\, marting\, table damping\, thumb damping\, and one piece of music entirely malleted. You could find out for yourself what these are all about by attending the concert.\nOther performers celebrating spring include Brad Mills on piano and Don MacLean on Cello\, as well as a barbershop octet called “High Octane”.\nAdmission is simply a freewill offering. We hope we see you there.-by Grace Armstrong for The Bells of St. Paul’s.\n \n  \nDate :\nApril 12\, 2026 \nEvent location :\n25 Gore St W\, Perth\, ON\, Canada\, Ontario K7H 2L9 \nContact :\nPlease call +1 613-267-2973 or send e-mail to: admin@stpaulsperth.ca \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:J.S Bach's long walk in the Snow
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n  \nIf you enjoy Tom Allen’s CBC  Music Radio broadcast every afternoon you will know what a fantastic host he is. With his stories about the music he brings each selection into closer view in a way that is fresh\, entertaining\, and interesting. His low-key good-natured style endears him to his audiences and his fans will definitely want to hear him in person. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet of tuning in\, don’t miss the opportunity to meet Tom and his musical friends as they visit Perth on their Canadian tour. \nIn Tom’s own words this is what the performance is all about… \nAt 20\, and in his first job\, JS Bach got into such trouble that the only thing he could do was to walk away. JS Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow takes you along on that journey: a 400 km odyssey to a glittering northern port city with street fights\, big business\, insight\, fulfillment\, the father figure he didn’t know he needed and\, quite possibly\, love.  A wonderful cast of musicians including mandolinist\, guitarist and singer/songwriter Joey Wright\, singer Patricia O’Callaghan\, multi-instrumentalist Pete Gemmell\, harpist Lori Gemmell and master storyteller Tom Allen provide glorious music – both familiar and gripping – allowing JS Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow to bring that troubled young man in from the cold. \n  \nDate :\nApril 23\, 2026 from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm \nEvent location :\n504 Kenyon Rd\, Perth\, ON \nContact : \nPlease call Barbara Guthrie at 6132640338\nE-mail: bguthrie@ripnet.com\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
